In recognition of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) of World War II and in celebration of 80 years of women's transcontinental air racing, Wings of Dreams, a charitable 501(c)(3) organization, is entering a team to compete in the 2009 Air Race Classic, the longest all-women air race in the world, on June 23-26 2009. WASP Bernice "Bee" Falk Haydu, a lifelong pilot who has logged more than 3000 hours of flight time and a veteran of four air races, including two "Powder Puff Derbies", has joined the team! Bee is an inspiring force and role model as Christy Smith and Susan King prepare for this 2700-mile epic flight as a tribute to the WASP for their pioneering spirit, service and sacrifice during World War II.
